Hello!

Today, the Digital Agency of Japan officially announced that “My Number Card on iPhone” service will launch on June 24, 2025. This allows users to register their My Number Card in Apple Wallet, making government services more accessible and convenient.
My Number Card Now Available on iPhone
With this feature, iPhone users can access government services — such as logging into Myna Portal and obtaining certificates at convenience stores — without carrying a physical My Number Card. Facial recognition (Face ID) and fingerprint authentication (Touch ID) ensure secure and easy identity verification.
Setup Requirements
To register your My Number Card on iPhone, you will need:
- A compatible iPhone
- Your physical My Number Card
- The 4-digit PIN from the card surface
- A 6-16 character alphanumeric signature password
Using the Myna Portal app, you can add your My Number Card to iPhone with these credentials.
Security Measures and Loss Prevention
Even if you lose your iPhone, you can temporarily suspend the My Number Card function by calling the My Number helpline or using Apple’s “Find My” app. This ensures security and peace of mind.
Future Plans
The Digital Agency plans to release an iOS version of the “My Number Card In-Person Verification App” in July, enabling face-to-face identity verification using iPhone. Support for health insurance card integration is also progressing, with trial operations at select medical institutions expected around September.
This initiative will make administrative procedures smoother for iPhone users and bring the convenience of a digital society closer to everyday life.
